We had a blast attending the ConvergeSouth conference in Winston-Salem. The event is produced by Flywheel and is a collaboration of Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESOs) in Central North Carolina.
A bit about Flywheel:
"The Flywheel Foundation promotes healthy entrepreneurship ecosystems through events, accessible courses, and investment. They accelerate home-grown economic development with diverse pathways for inception-stage and growth-stage startups by partnering with an expanding network of non-profits, economic development organizations, corporations, and investors. They are committed to working with organizations who put entrepreneurs first, knowing that a resilient and inclusive economy benefits all."
Xtern had the opportunity to present on Day 1 -- Multi-track educational programming led by national and regional experts on all things digital. Our founder and president, Keir Davis, unpacked the topic, "Do you really need an app?" Every startup thinks they need an app. But they often can’t tell you why, other than a vague idea that an app will “get them more customers.” This session discusses the need to root cause the “why” for an app, what to look for in an app developer, and how to architect the app for user success.
The audience was really receptive to the topic and we look forward to partnering again with ConvergeSouth and Flywheel in the future.
