We are committed to our craft of software development.
Our breadth and depth of skills set us apart from others.

About

Xtern Software was founded by Keir Davis in 2002. Keir was first exposed to programming on a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. He has greatly expanded his programming abilities since then.

Keir attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (BA) and the University of North Carolina – Greensboro (MS, Computer Science). He co-authored a book (The Definitive Guide To Linux Network Programming), and received his Amazon Web Services certification as a Solutions Architect (Associate).

Our team has grown steadily over the years. We now employ a dedicated group of senior developers with a combined 80+ years of experience. We also offer digital marketing services to support the investment you’ve made in your business’s digital footprint.

We are proud to call Greensboro, North Carolina, our home.

Some of us were born in the Piedmont Triad, some came here for school, work, or family; but all of us are now deeply rooted in the region. Our office is located at the edge of Greensboro's historic Fisher Park neighborhood, and we take pride in all the area has to offer. You might find us at a local restaurant for our weekly team lunch or engaging with the community through civic organizations. We are proud members of the Guilford Merchant's Association and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.

We work directly with three organizations to better our community: we teach computer literacy courses at the United Way of Greater Greensboro's Family Success Center, we hire & mentor interns through the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce's Campus Greensboro initiative, and we clean & maintain Latham Park though the City of Greensboro's Adopt-a-Park program.
