[Meet the Team] Juan Pablo Marin Higuita

We're so happy to welcome Juan Pablo Marin Higuita to the Xtern team! He is joining us as our newest Junior Developer. In his role as Junior Developer, he'll be learning the ropes of software development at Xtern, while getting to contribute to the success of a variety of projects.

Juan Pablo was born in Medellin, Colombia and attended Universidad EIA (Engineering School of Antioquia) where he majored in mechatronic engineering. He initially came to NC to study English and play soccer for a local high school--Wesleyan Christian Academy, and ended up meeting his wife there.

After finishing college, he returned to the United States to live full-time and worked as a Spanish-language interpreter for a local hospital. He recently became a US citizen after going through the lengthy and arduous process to apply, and was able to participate in a citizenship ceremony in Charlotte.

While in Colombia, he volunteered with at-risk youth, and he and his wife are still involved in sponsoring several children through one of their programs. His hobbies include playing soccer with a local adult league, cheering on Charlotte FC and the Minnesota Vikings, and collecting sports jerseys from all over the world.

We're delighted to have Juan Pablo on board and have him contribute to continued successes at Xtern!
